According to Article 11, Paragraph 3, of the Ministry of Education’s Regulation regarding international students that are undertaking studies in Taiwan and must withdraw after admission to a university/college due to behavioral issues, poor academic performance or conviction under the R.O.C. Criminal Code, may not reapply for admission. Academic performance is interpreted as an evaluation of the student’s on-campus learning and examination results, which is required for the successful completion of a degree program; however, the qualifying exam for doctoral degree candidates is considered only as an evaluation towards acceptance as a doctoral candidate. Failure to successfully pass this exam, will not apply as poor performance, as referred to in this regulation.
